For the Love of Science
Inspiring scientific thinking in schools and allowing bright minds to come to life with exciting ideas and creative solutions helps keep the world at its prime. Who's to say the next prized nuclear physicist won't come from Adel, GA, or an innovative new mechanical engineer for Subaru won't be from Ellentown? To keep the ideas flowing, O'Steen Subaru of Valdosta supported the AAAS by donating award-winning science books on customers' behalf to local schools in August. Visitors were encouraged to leave a note for their favorite educator on a Subaru Loves Learning placard and then upload a selfie with it onto their social media channels to help share the love with friends and family.
Paving the Road Toward a Brighter Future
Through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative combined with the AAAS, students not only receive books locally, such as at an elementary school in Hahira, but Subaru dealers and customers across the nation can participate. For almost 20 years, Subaru and its retail partners have been donating these notable science books, bringing the numbers up to 370,000 nationwide—which equates to a lot of reading amongst young minds and sparks curiosity in the STEM field.
